This company is known by the initials “TH”, they were the Talleres Hereter (Hereter Workshops) in Barcelona.
-Initially it was a garage and service station for cars in the city, and also a manufacturer of quality cars. Later they became interested in aeronautics and even built planes of their own design directed by Jorge Loring. The "España" model belongs to this small factory.
“TH-España aircraft”
-This plane had a Hispano-Suiza V8 engine, also built in Barcelona.
-The aircraft had a general appearance very similar to the famous French SPAD.
-At this time Talleres Hereter had hundreds of employees at their own airfield in El Prat, called “La Volateria”, located precisely where the current El Prat airport in Barcelona is situated today.
“TH facilities at El Prat”
-This culminating point occurred between 1918 and 1919. Workshops and an aviation school were set up at the airfield.
-And it is at this important time for the company that an aviation engine was built, the Type A.
-It was a 9-cylinder rotary engine giving 95 effective HP and weighing 115 Kg. The pistons were 110 mm in bore by 150 mm in stroke.
“TH, Tipo A”
-After the Great War and the subsequent crisis, the appearance of large stocks of surplus material made the company's progress impossible.
