MOSS

(USA)

Like Rateau in France, Moss made superchargers and turbochargers.

-In the illustration below we see a Moss supercharger mounted at the front of a Liberty V-12 engine.

-Sanford A. Moss managed to increase the airplane speed as well as the maintenance of the engine power at high altitudes. Therefore he designed high-performance centrifugal compressors that compressed the taken air to sea level pressure, and they even increased it above the environmental pressure, reaching values of almost double at times.
