SÄNGER - BREDT
(Germany)
This is the cooperation between Eugen Sänger and Irene Bredt. For years Irene Bredt was Eugen's main assistant and eventually they married.
They designed and constructed rocket engines, whose trials and tests were aimed at a type of bomber Shuttle. This project was done during the end of the war and of which life-size models were even found by the allies.
“Sänger rocket engine”
-These engines were tested, some projects were for tremendous powers like the one from 1942, running on LOX and Kerosene delivering 145,700 Kgf for 168 seconds. It had a single chamber.
“Sänger engine test”
-Another engine from 1942 was for studying the combination of LOX and Alcohol. It gave 117,000 lbf for 10 seconds.
