The Sulzer brothers founded this company around 1834 as an iron foundry factory near Winterthur.
-Around 1947 it was invited to produce an engine capable of powering the new Swiss N-20 fighter plane. It joined forces with Brown-Boveri and Escher Weyss and projects such as the D-45, DZ-45 and DK-45 and their variants were made.

“Sulzer DZ-45”
The DZ-45 has a great similarity with the SM-01 that was finally manufactured by EFW in Emmen.
-Gebrüder Sulzer manufactured the DeHavilland Ghost model 48 Mk1 for the Vampires of the Swiss Air Force.
-One of these engines is on display at the NASM.

-Sulzer also made the Atar 09C-3 for the Swiss Mirage.
From Appendix 6: In the Zurich Aeronautical Museum our collaborator JGB has sent us a photo of the DH Goblin, built under license together with the Ghost mentioned in the main text.
“Sulzer-DH Goblin”
-But more interesting has been the discovery of an example of the D45, which is also mentioned in the main text, precisely the D45.04 and which we see below.

“Sulzer D45.04, more complete”
From Appendix 9: A Sulzer D.45-04 is located at the Dübendorf Museum, with some visible details added, compared to the picture in the main text.
