It is known as the MMPP Salyut or Moscow-Salyut Machinery Production Plant. It began its work on building aviation engines around 1912 at the GAZ-24.
-It manufactured the Shvetsovs, and in the 1930s the water-cooled, twelve-cylinder, V-shape AM engines by A. Mikulin.
-After WWII its factory number was changed to GAZ-45 and it began to build Lyulka turbojet engines.
-The first RD-45 (RR-Nene) was made there under the direction of Klimov.
-After the division of the Soviet Union, it was especially dedicated to Lyulka and Tumanskii engines.
-Commercially related to the Motor Sich group, UMPO and Progress, it is mainly dedicated to the construction of the AL-31.
-From the current production (around 2002, according to the company's catalog) it released the models AL-31F, AL-31FN, D-27, D436T1 and T2, R-15B-300, AL-21F and a line of industrial turbines like the GTE-20C.

-The engine of the Sukoi Su-37 is the AL-31F with 12,500 Kgf thrust. It has an afterburner. It is also installed on the modified Su-30MK, Su-33, Su-35 and others.
“AL-31F”
-The AL-31FN, like the previous one, is a by-pass turbojet with afterburner, also of modular construction and two shafts.
-The difference is in the arrangement of the accessories at the bottom.
“AL-31FN”
-The D-27 is a “prop-fan” intended mainly for Antonov turboprops. It delivers 14,000 SHP and is Installed on the An-70, An-70T, An-180, Be-42 and others.
“Salyut D-27”
-The D-436T1 and T2 engines give 7,500 and 8,200 Kgf thrust respectively.
-They are high by-pass turbofans for mainly Tupolev aircraft (Tu-134M, Tu-334 series).
“Salyut D-436T1-T2”
-The R-15B-300 turbojet, with 11,200 Kgf thrust, is used on the MiG-25 and RB reconnaissance aircraft as well as the MiG-25FP interceptor.
“Salyut R-15B-300”
-The Salyut AL-21F aviation gas turbine also gives 11,200 Kgf of thrust.
-Within Russian philosophy, this engine was designed in 1966 and at the Salyut factory it is in its third generation.
“Salyut AL-21F”
-The GTE-20C industrial turbine can drive an electric generator or a gas pipeline transfer pump. Therefore it has power outputs with different speeds.
“Salyut GTE-20C”
-The construction of the AI-222, GTE25U and spare parts for the current and previous built engines enters its current and future production.
-There are collaborations with Snecma (CFM-56) and Pratt & Whitney Canada (PW127).
-Interestingly, continuing with the style and tradition of Russian production organizations (clearly separated from the OKB and those for evaluation and project development) that manufacture refrigerators as well as rocket engines, Salyut also offers its facilities for high-quality technology such as special welding, laser, plasma, casting, composites, etc.
“Salyut Products”
-We see that currently Salyut offers, along with the superb turbine engines, items such as outboard motors, cultivators, generator sets, canoes, even bathroom scales.
