Around 1933, engineer René Poinsard presented very light horizontally-opposed twin-cylinder engines. They were the 2B giving 28 CV direct or geared, and the 2C giving 39 CV with gearbox.
“Poinsard 2B”
-The Type B gave 25 CV at 2,280 rpm and 28 CV at 2,500 rpm. They were made between the years 1933-1940 and were widely used.
-The B with gearbox gave 32 CV at 1,580 rpm, with single and double ignition.
“Poinsard 2C”
-A clear photograph of the Poinsard with two horizontally-opposed cylinders giving 28 CV at 2,500 rpm.
“Poinsard twin-cylinder”
-This engine is confused with Point-Bard, which in the main text is attributed to another manufacturer.
-But there is a possibility that there is a confusion with both. Research continues.
-See also Hochet-Mengin, Mengin, Mengin-Poinsard, Point-Bard, Genete-Hochet-Mengin y GHM.
-The Type 2C gave 38 CV at 2,500 rpm, and was made during the same time.
-They are also available in single and double ignition versions.
-Later Poinsard manufactured his engines through Mengin, at the Pierre Mengin Establishments: the 2C with reference 2A.01.
-They flew on the Jodel Baby D-9 and the Pou-du-Ciel HM-14 (Sky Flea).
-They used roller bearings for the crankshaft and the gear shafts. The 2C came out in 1934.
From Appendix A4/6: In the main text there is the controversy of the Poinsard engine regarding the possible Point-Bard mark that appeared in an article and that has finally been identified as an error of that publication.
-It has been decided not to eliminate the Point-Bard brand, since being unmasked it will serve for another possible reader to clarify their false identity.
-In addition, this error has been verified at the MAE Documentation Center.

From Appendix 12: Below we show an old photo and an outline of the boxer engine with two horizontally-opposed cylinders.
