The company Laurent & Klement was founded by Václav Laurin and Václav Klement in 1895. In 1925 the company was acquired by Skoda Works.

The Laurin & Klement car factory built the engines designed by Hiero (the well-known Austro-Hungara brand).

-The Hiero engines were designed by the well-known sportsman and car racer Otto Hieronimus.

-The engines were also known as Hieronimus.

From Appendix 9: From the important contribution of E-V (AEHS) an interesting engine of the aforementioned brand but which is provided as “Larin-Klament” that the author reads for the first time. It is an engine built by this brand licensed by Hiero.

-Two things attract attention, a wooden mast in an upright position at the front of the propeller outlet. Another is that the engine is mounted on a bed of two rigid tubes without any damping, which would transmit the vibrations to the entire structure.

-The wooden mast is mysterious. It is a pending investigation by the author, but I would appreciate the solution if someone knows the reason.

-The cylinder sleeves are not made of red copper but of yellow brass, which gives it a unique appearance. The cylinders have a tap at the top, perhaps to prime the water circuit.
