It is considered an Italian-American engine.
-It was constructed and modified -improved- in the US by the well-known car brand, Duesenberg Motors Corp, under the direction of C.B. King
-Although Bugatti was of Italian origin, his construction and professional career was in France (see Bugatti).
-They were twin engines, joined by a common crankshaft bench and a single gearbox.
“King-Bugatti”
-It is a water-cooled, double-bank, 16-cylinder engine that gives 410/420 hp at 2,000 rpm. From the year 1917.
“King-Bugatti cutaway”
-The eight cylinders of each bank corresponded to the engine of the famous Italian-French car of the Bugatti brand.
-Below we show a photo of the King Bugatti at the NASM. As the rooms where the engines are exposed are somewhat dark and with focused lighting, the engine offers these contrasts.
-However, you can see some details that do not appear in the photo-drawing of the main text.

-This second illustration has been extracted from a manual and is already clear enough.
-The double row of cylinders on a single crankcase, with two crankshafts, totaled 16 cylinders and delivered about 410 HP.
-Both crankshafts add up their output power to a single propeller shaft, but they are automatically disengaged if one of them fails.
