In 1936, Jowett Cars Ltd in Bradford acquired the license to build the Praga B engine. It is not known if it came to build any.

From Appendix 6: In the main text there is no example of an engine of this brand.

-Now we have located one of four horizontally-opposed cylinders, although liquid cooled. Initially this engine was used in cars.

-It is mentioned in this text that Jowett acquired the license for the Czechoslovak Praga B engine. Logically it is not the one that we present below.

-Aunque insistimos que no se conoce avionización de éste motor, se trae aquí por la intención de la marca de introducirse -en su día- en el campo aeronáutico.

-Although we insist that there is no known avionization of this engine, it is mentioned here for Jowett's intention to introduce it into the aeronautical field.

-Its limitation would be the liquid cooling.

-The formula of the four horizontally opposed cylinders has been more widespread than initially believed when considering that beside Volkswagen, the most prolific builders were the Continental, Lycoming and Franklin.
