Industría de Turbopropulsores SA. initially is of Basque origin, from the town of Zamudio, next to Bilbao and with a commercial office in Madrid. This now state-owned company brings together Sener, Casa and Bazan. Rolls Royce also has a part of the shares.

-The company has been formed in 1989, and it is considered the heir of ENMASA and performs overhauls and repairs of GE. PW, Honeywell, Turbomeca, Snecma and RR/Allison engines.

-The most important work attributed to ITP is its intervention in the manufacture of several areas of the EJ-200 turbojet engine for the "Typhoon" Eurofighter.

-It also intervenes in the TP-400 turboprop engine for future European military transport, as well as in Honeywell's AS-907, Rolls Royce's Trent and BR-715, and Snecma's Atar Plus.

From Appendix 10: I have been able to confirm with satisfaction that the ITP company does not renounce its historical roots. "Industrias de TurboPropulsión" was founded in 1989 on ENMASA means and its installations in Alcalá de Henares. Later thay built new facilities in Ajalvir (next to Torrejon de Ardoz).

-The initial root of everything was Elizalde SA in Barcelona, which manufactured cars since 1914, and in 1917 they already made the T-80 engine (V8) that flew in a Farman II. At the same time he made the T-41 six-cylinder inline engine.

We are then in the CENTENARY of this company.

-Elizalde SA designed its own engines (apart from building some engines under license from Wright, Walter, Lorraine ..) Engines such as the Dragon, Super-Dragon in the 1930s, were made in Paseo San Juan in Barcelona.

After the civil war, it was heavily intervened by the state and engines for military aviation were built, such as Beta, Tigre, Sirio, Alción, Flecha (all of their own design).

-And soon thereafter they built the Turbomeca Marboré II, starting to prepare the production of the Marboré VI and a Turbomeca turboshaft (Astazou) for the Aerotecnia helicopters.

-In 1951 the company was nationalized and renamed ENMASA and finally the Barcelona organization was dismantled (as was Enasa-Pegaso-Hispano/Suiza) and moved to Madrid.

-For strategic interest it was said, as if it were not the same country, but the reasons are easy to conclude. First it was under the direction of CASA and it was dedicated to the revision of FAE (Spanish Airforce) engines like the J-47, the Marboré and the J-85.

-In 1972 the Ajalvir factory is inaugurated, and there they begin to overhaul the PW J-79 engines on the Phantom F-4.

-ITP collaborates with large companies in the world in overhaul, manufacturing of components and engine parts such as those of Pratt & Whitney, SNECMA, Rolls-Royce, General Electric y Honeywell.

-ITP was founded in 1989 to build parts for the EJ-200 engine of the Eurofighter. In this program, like other internationals, it has collaborated thanks to interstate agreements.

-But like Snecma that was founded in 1945 with its roots in one of the grouped companies, Gnome, was able to say that it is the oldest in Europe, ITP had its roots in Elizalde.

-However, it is appreciated that they do not forget where they come from. This was said at a recent meeting of former employees and students of the Elizalde School of Apprentices (EAE). Today they are all retired but with a very high specific weight.

-In 2016 ITP has been acquired by Rolls-Royce. Finally we have therefore that Elizalde is now Rolls-Royce.
