The Honeywell Corporation has entered the engine field through Honeywell Aerospace Products, owner of Honeywell Propulsion Systems Enterprise (PSE).

-While acquiring the companies mentioned at the beginning of this chapter, they were agitating the engine models that they owned.

-In addition, it also has some Lycoming models, as we will see, from GE (the CFE), LHTEC, ITEC etc., also counting collaborations and participation in Ireland, the Czech Republic and China.

-It is the main manufacturer of turbine engines for General and Regional Aviation, Helicopters, APP and APU, as well as supplier for the Armed Forces of the five continents.

-In the APU range, we highlight the series 36, 131, 700 and RE. In Honeywell's orbit are the Lycoming engines T-53, T-55, LTS-101 and Turbofans.

-From this "mosaic" of Honeywell engines -now- we identify those of the absorbed brands.

-There is the exception of the US military F-124 and F-125. We will see that the latter F-125 is identical in appearance to the AS-907.

-It is to be mentioned that the AGT-1500 is a turbine for land armored vehicles that is derived from aeronautics.

-The HTS-900 of genuine design is a turbojet for the Bell 407X helicopter.

-The resumed AS-907 was developed in several models more, like the AS-977.

-The latter would reach the category of 7,000 lbs of thrust.

-The HTF 7000, as already said is the new AS-907. In the 6,500-7,500 lbf category, with a by-pass ratio of 4.4 and a pressure ratio of 28.2.

-From Allied Signal, the AS-900 series head has resulted in two useful versions.

-The AS 907 was for Bombardier's "Continental" business jet, and the AS-977 for the BAe RJX.

-The Garrett/AirResearch TFE731-5, -5R, -5A, -5AR or -5BR and later developments such as -20, -40 are under the Honeywell line.

-The ATF3-6 has a design that is very atypical due to constant changes in flow direction.

-The studies began in 1965 and the first run was carried out in May 1968 although the certification would arrive in December 1981.

-Observing the design, we see that it is a one-stage turbofan, next an important five-stage axial compressor.

-From the discharge of this compressor the air is directed to the rear part of the engine to change direction and enter a centrifugal compressor and from there to the annular combustion chamber in counter-flow, turning around again at its inlet and again at the outlet, forward to reach the turbines.

-The first turbine it finds is the gas generator that drives the small centrifugal compressor. This concept means that the engine can be running at low speed independently of the shaft that drives the fan.

-This is why the engine accessories are located on this small gas generator.

-Then it arrives at the power turbine train, three of them for the Fan's low pressure shaft and the next two for the main compressor shaft. It is therefore a three-shaft turbojet engine.

-But the most significant of this engine is its discharge of gases into the by-pass duct (turning around the direction of gases again) that we see clearly in the previous drawing. This causes the infrared signal to be hidden and diminished, making it difficult to be captured by possible weaponry acting on the mentioned signal.

-The F109-GA-100 has the factory designation TFE-78, which is derived from the T76 and TPE331 (Garrett/AirResearch). It has the TSE-100 version.

-The F125 is also from Honeywell. It is the afterburning version of the T124-GA-100. The Fan has three crowns of vanes.

-The LF500 is a civilian turbofan, derived from the ALF502 and the T-55, old Lycoming engines.

-It turns out that the Lycoming turbine-section was acquired by Allied Signal (ex Garrett) in 1984, passing into the hands of Honeywell in 1999.

-The latest version of the LF500 is the LF507.

-Recently, the HTF-7000 and HTF-7250G turbofans are being built.

-The HTF-7000 engines were designed for business aircraft.

-With a range of thrusts stipulated between 6,500 and 7,500 lbf.

-From this family the new HTF-7250G is now offered for the Gulfstream G250 twin-engine aircraft. With 7,445 lbf of thrust for each engine and reaching speeds of Mach 0.85.

-The new HTF-7250G and HTF-7500E, are small medium-power turbofans for business Aviation.
