Known as "Pollmann" sometimes.

-The 4-cylinder is a modification of a 4-stroke VW engine that gave 40 hp at 3,500 rpm.

-The two cylinders of previous era (1960-61) gave 20 CV and no application is known.

-HEPU was the constructor of engines that were designed by Pollmann, also known as Komet Flight Motors (see KFM).

-The HEPU construction company is the "Heinz Pollmann Fahrzeug-Motoren-und-Flugmotorenbau" in Uffeln-Ulotho, Germany.

-The Hepu / KFM 40/3500 version had simple ignition. The 40/3500-2 had double ignition.

-There was another version 40/3500-48 from which we have no data.

It was only approved by the German LBA, and was used on experimental and home-made aircraft such as the Tipsy Nipper T-66, Druine Turbulent, Jodel D-9 Baby, the Bensen Gyroplane or the Smith Termite.

-Years later (about 20) they made an agreement to built them also in Italy by IAME or Ital-American Motors Engineering, installed in Zingonia. There these engines have also been known as KFM.
