(See IAME).

The KFM 104, 105, 107 and 112 engines have already been exposed in the IAME chapter.

-But here we can insist and expand the 107 version, of greater acceptance.

-This engine caused a sensation in its presentation at the 1981 Oshkosh Airshow. It is of modular design, and was offered in 4 versions: the basic S, with direct transmission and without accessories.

KFM 107 S
“107 S”

-It had a "reversible" carburetor according to its use for pull or push propellers.

KFM 107 E
“107 E”

-The 107 E includes alternator and electric starter.

KFM 107 RS
“107 RS”

-The 107 RS version has integral 2:1 reduction transmission with a belt.

-And also the 107 ER with electrical accessories and reduction gear.

KFM 107 ER
“107 ER”

-Not to forget the 107 Maxi described in the IAME chapter. The displacement of these engines is 292 cc. in two cylinders and they use the 2-stroke cycle. As we can see, they are air-cooled with horizontally opposed cylinders.

KFM 107 E

-The construction is somewhat original due to the fact that the two cylinders are integral parts of the crankcase halves, which reduces the engine parts.

-The union of the cylinders to the crankcase is eliminated. The cylinder heads are independent and are fixed using six bolts.

-They are geared by belt. At the end of the crankshaft we can see a 3-slot pulley.

From Appendix 12: The KFM 107e model has been installed on the beautiful Polish DK-3 "Kasia" twin engine aircraft. Each engine gave 25 hp, the KFM 107e.

Kasia 2
“Kasia 2”

-The DK-3 "Kasia" started with two 52 hp KFM engines but soon this was changed for more power, with two 1700 cc, 68 hp Limbach engines.
