It was a factory created by Beardmore to build BHP engines (Beardmore-Halford-Pullinger) and it was this engine, the Puma, which was slightly modified, and was presented with the name of "Adriatic".
“Galloway Adriatic”
-Although the main production of BHP engines was carried out by Siddeley Deasy (see).
-They built another engine, the "Atlantic", with powers between 400 and 575 hp.
“Galloway Atlantic”
-In 1919, the 480 hp Atlantic version was installed on the DH-15 and the 520 hp version on the Remington-Burnelli RB-2, for example.
“Galloway Tiger”
-The water-cooled V-12 with 43.5 liters of displacement that gave 500 hp was derived from the BHP / Galloway "Atlantic", and became known as the "Tiger". Although hundreds of engines were ordered, at the end of the war , in 1919, the order was canceled. It was manufactured by Siddeley-Deasy as well.
-Galloway Engineering Company Ltd, was located in Dumfries, Scotland and was founded in 1916 to build BHP engines as has been said. We mention that the Pacific was made as well.
“Galloway Atlantic”
From Appendix 6: See previous photo. See the main text also to relate this brand with others of its time.
Founded to produce BHP engines. The Atlantic, shown in the photograph, was also made around 1918.
