The "Matabele" engine from Sunbeam (see), was developed under the direction of French engineer L. Coatalen (he would later manufacture diesel engines in France -see Coatalen-) and was built by Darracq under license.
"Darracq London-Paris"
-There was the 12A 12-cylinder V-engine, water cooled and that gave 420 CV at 2,000 rpm, with gear and a double overhead camshaft.
"12A -Matabele"
-As mentioned, the 12A engine was the Sunbeam "Matabele" in England.
"Darracq-Coatalen Benjamin"
-The following year, 1921, they build the 600 CV Benjamin MJ-7 without gear.
-In 1923 they present an 18-cylinder W-engine with three rows of 6 cylinders (Lorraine style). There were 4 valves per cylinder. The French Talbot motor company, also followed its development.
