In 1937, Chilton Aircraft had the rights to manufacture the Carden Ford engines to be installed on their Chilton Four aircraft.
-As we know, Carden Ford engines were adapted Ford Model A engines. They had four cylinders, were water cooled and gave about 30 hp at 3,300 rpm.
From appendix A1/6: The Ford Ten car engine adapted by Carden was also offered by Chilton.
-This version has a greater thrust bearing, dual ignition and other modifications required for aviation use.
