Around 1960 this company manufactured an engine for which they made approval tests in front of representatives of Civil Aviation and Bureau Veritas in Buc, near Paris.
-It was intended to replace the American Continental 65 CV, 90 CV and 100 CV engines for French light aviation.
-The Chabay 4C-10 model that gave 110 hp had an almost identical lay out to a Lycoming, with four horizontally opposed cylinders and also the generator, starter system and crown wheel were similar to the engines that it attempted to replace.

-The dimensions are almost identical to those of Continental O-200 and Lycoming O-235 and O-290.
-The industrial firm Puteaux would give momentum to the Chabay engine trade.
-Curiously, dynamo and starter were from the Peugeot 403.
-They also tried it to be an alternative for small Potez engines, (see).
