(ver BHP, Galloway y Siddeley-Deasy).
At Arrol-Johnston Cars with factory in Dumfries, they built the first prototype BHP (Beardmore-Halford-Pullinger) engine in a workshop next to the factory.
"BHP"
-The director was Frank B. Halford, whose mission was to develop the Beardmore Austro-Daimler 120 hp engine, already built under license, so that it would reach 160 hp and 200 hp.
-He used Hispano details to build the BHP with less weight, like the aluminum block.
-These engines gave way to the "Puma" also manufactured by Galloway and Siddeley-Deasy. In fact, Galloway was created to exploit the new engine.
-The director of Arrol-Johnston was T.C. Pullinger, the reason why he was in the BHP project.
