Vickers Ltd. was awarded the contract to build 1,000 Mk.1 ABC Dragonfly engines during WWI, and almost unexpectedly delivered only one before the end of the war.

-Vickers has several interesting engine designs, except for the Metropolitan-Vickers, one of the first English turbines, known as "Metrovicks" (see Metropolitan-Vickers).
