Two variants of this horizontally opposed twin-cylinder engine were made, one air-cooled and the other water-cooled.
-Later, another engine was built with fan-shaped cylinders, like the REP or the Farcot.
“Velox-Suère”
-The builder of the Velox engines was M. J. Suère.
-The two-cylinder, water-cooled engine had a 120 mm piston diameter and a 130 mm stroke, and a power of 30 hp was obtained at 1,600 rpm.
-Another version was air-cooled. (Photo).
-The cylinders had red copper liners.
-The valves were controlled by rocker arms and had a diameter of 60 mm and were located at the bottom of the cylinder.
-The combustion chamber was hemispherical with an average compression ratio of 4.8 kg.
-To maximize the lightness of the pistons, they were made of steel with three segments.
-A single pinion with two cams controls the four valves via rods and rocker arms.
-It has exhaust ports in the cylinder wall and at the piston's BDC.
"Velox-Suére Fan-Type"
-This engine was built in 1909, like the above mentioned engines, the fan-type four-cylinder engine produced almost 50 hp, although there is little information about its application.
-The view is almost from the top, and it is interesting to see the intake manifold branches from the carburetor.
