The United Technologies Corporation is part of the Pratt & Whitney group. It inherits UA and UACL.

- It has two other divisions: one dedicated to commercial products in East Hartford and the other dedicated to Government Engines and Space Propulsion. The Government Engines group is located in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Turbofan F-117-PW-100
“F-117-PW-100”

- An engine for military use, the F-117 is a derivative of the PW-2040 Turbofan. The first engine was produced in 1990. It features a twin shaft and high bypass. It gives 41,700 lbf of thrust.

PW-4460
“PW-4460”

- The PW-4460 is a commercial product. It belongs to the larger PW-4000 series. Without a military designation, therefore, the first engine was released in 1988. It gave around 60,000 lbf of thrust.

PW-4152
“PW-4152”

- The PW-4152 entered production in 1986. It is also commercial and gives 52,000 lbf of thrust.

- The PW-2037 was originally designated the JT10D. This commercial engine was a joint effort between PW, MTU, and Fiat. It is a completely new design; for example, it is not based on the JT9D.

PW-2037
“PW-2037”

-However, it has a military variant in the F117-PW-100, which we have already seen. The first PW-2037 was built in 1984, with 38,250 lbf of thrust.

PW-4084
“PW-4084”

- The PW-4084 is also commercial, one of the largest, delivering 86,760 lbf of thrust. It was manufactured in 1986.

- New engines are in continuous production. See Pratt and Whitney. The following rocket engines are also listed under United Technologies:

The UA-156 is a solid rocket that produces 91,00 kgf for 157 seconds on some Saturn 5s.

- The UA-1205 was manufactured from 1965 to 1982. This solid rocket delivered 596,500 kgf, and was launched on the Saturn I, INT, MLV, and Titan 3.

- The UA-1206 is a solid rocket with a 634,977 kgf capacity for 114 seconds. From 1982 to 1992 it was installed on the Titan 3/4D, with 36 flights.

- The UA-1207 is a solid rocket with a 725,700 kgf capacity for 120 seconds and is installed on the Saturn and Titan, etc.
