The Talbot-Coatalen engines, designed by Louis Coatalen, were built at the Darracq factories.
-They were of four types: 100 hp, 300 hp, 420 hp and 800 hp.
-The 100 hp engine had 6 cylinders in line with pistons of 120 mm bore by 130 mm stroke. It weighed 180 kg.
-The 300 and 420 hp engines had 12 cylinders in a 60° V. They had two intake and two exhaust valves per cylinder that were directly driven by the camshaft without rocker arms.

-The 180 CV is of a similar construction to the previous V12 engines. It has a reduction gearbox and three intake and three exhaust valves per cylinder head, and there are four spark plugs per cylinder.
