The company's name is "Take-Off Ultralight Flug". It adapts BMW motorcycle engine models 1100 RS/S or GS. And also the R-1150 RS and R-1200.
“BMW conversion by Take-Off”
-Below we show a cutaway view of the same engine, but without the gearbox.
“Take-Off cutaway”
-Going into more detail, the BMW R-1.1 RS engines with a displacement of 1085 cc, gave 90 CV at 7,200 rpm (66 Kw).
-The R-1.15RS with 1130 cc gave 95 CV at 7,250 rpm (70 Kw).
-And the R-1.1S with 1085 cc gave 98 CV at 7,500 rpm. (72 Kw).
-For these speeds, the required reduction gear is built by the same company, incorporating an elastic coupling like in the motorcycle.
“Elastic coupling and clutch”
-On the right we see the group of two spring-loaded jaws that go inside the central drum. When rotating from a certain speed, the jaws are coupled to the drum by centrifugal force, thus dragging the reduction gear and propeller.
-The reduction gear can be upright or inverted, with superimposed gears and inclined teeth.
“Reversible reduction gear”
-The reductions can be 2’46; 2’75; 3’05 and 3’46 to 1.
-It has a satisfactory weight/power ratio of 0’77 Kg/CV.
-From Appendix 9: In 2013, the BMW R-1200 motorcycle engine with 120 CV is offered.
“Take-Off 1200, 120 CV”
-They are prepared for dual ignition and with fuel injection.
-There are also various reductions for the propeller between: 1:2.8 and 13 to 3.55.
