The engine designed by these two exceptional designers is the one that initially uses a single chamber for two pistons at a time.
“Engine diagram and development”
-The idea of this double-row radial engine that had the two rows facing each other so that every two cylinders had a common cylinder head, was the same as the Junkers type 205 engine, which we see schematically in the second figure, but as if we were bending it in the direction of the two arrows through the center of the cylinder (and the combustion chamber).
-To see a practical implementation of this Szydlowski and Planiol engine, have a look at the Salmson chapter, the SH-18 engine. This is exactly the project that has already been carried out.
