Tips & Smith Inc. of Houston, Texas acquired war surplus Le Rhone engines and converted them from rotary to fixed.

“Super - Rhone”

-The conversion was carried out by Charles E. Quick, so the crankshaft was moved to the front and made shorter since it was no longer a means of attachment to the aircraft structure.

-The engine delivered 120 HP at 1,400 rpm. All the fuel supply and lubrication had to be redesigned.
