Sterling Engines Co. manufactured English engines from the Sunbeam (Sunbeam-Coatalen) company in the USA.
-In 1917 it made the “Cossack” exhibited in the Smithsonian Museum in Washington.
-There are two entries in the Sterling Engines documentation at the USNA with the numbers 3098/452.8 and 3233/452.8.
From Appendix A7/6: A barrel engine was built by the Sterling Engine Co. under license from Michell of Melbourne, Australia.

-It continued to be called “Crankless” and also “without spark plugs” as it was a Diesel engine.
