Solo Kleinmotoren GmbH is based in Sindelfingen and builds engines for ULM and motorized paragliders.
-These are actually adapted industrial and chainsaw engines.
“Solo 210 cc”
-The Type 209 is 220 cc and delivers 16.6 hp at 6,600 rpm.
-The Type 335 model with 210 cc gives 20 hp at 6,900 rpm.
-The Solo Twin is a two-cylinder in-line engine with 430 cc giving 22 hp at 5,500 rpm.
“Solo 16.6 CV engine”
-They all use the two-stroke cycle.
"Solo installation on a PPG"
-We see a Powered Paraglider installation, with a propeller protection ring and a more developed exhaust silencer.
-This whole group is hung from the back of the paraglider but once the glider creates lift, the pilot and engine hang from it.
“Solo engine on a Fresh Breeze”
-We can see more clearly the complete assembly of the engine, exhaust-silencer and the protective aluminum ring to avoid damage from the propeller.
-A net prevents getting into the propeller's turning circle.
“Solo 560”
-The Solo-560 model is a two-stroke, four-cylinder, horizontally-opposed engine with a displacement of 570 cc.
-It has pistons of 54 mm bore by 58 mm stroke.
-Two versions were prepared, the 560A with direct air through the forward speed and the 560-B with a fan that forced the air to the cylinders.
From Appendix 9: A final version of the 2350 appears, which is reproduced below.
“In CAD-CAM drawing”
-Around 2012 a new line of engines with greater displacement appears, such as 2350 cc, 2400 cc and 2625 cc.
“Solo 2350C”
“Solo 2350D”
-The 2350 models have a displacement of 430 cc. The 2350 standard gives 19.6 kW at 5,500 rpm without reduction gear, dropping to 15.3 kW with reduction gear at the same crankshaft rpm.
-There are the -B and -BS. The 2350C model gives 22 kW (30 hp) with the crankshaft rotating at 6,500 rpm and the propeller at 3,000 rpm with reduction gear, as shown in the photo. The -D gives the same power. There is also a 2489.
“Solo 2625- 01 y 02”
-This series is water cooled. The -01 gives 39 kW (53 hp) at , rpm and the -02 a little more: 47 kW (64 hp).
“Solo 2625-02i”
-The -02i model uses a fuel injection system instead of a carburetor. It increases power to 50 kW (68 hp) at 6,600 rpm.
From Appendix 12: New engines from the brand using the V2 architecture.
“Solo V2 engine with propeller, exhausts, etc.”
-There are two versions of this assembly, with two powers despite maintaining the same displacement in both: 650 CC.
-It gives 35 hp at 4,200 rpm and the 40 hp due to the fact that it rotates at 4400 rpm. We see that the propeller rotation is reduced by a belt reduction gear.
