This company is dedicated to the manufacture of small sports engines with a range for application to motorized para-gliders and ULM.

-And as we will see attempts for future VLAs.

-It is based in San Dalmazio di Serramazzoni, MO. The first engine would be the Mini 2 and 2 Plus. These are two-stroke, air-cooled engines with belt gear.

-Initially, Simonini engines appeared as Mini and Victor, with the types written in Roman numerals: (I, II, etc.).

-Now clearly the engine type numbers are in Arabic: (1, 2, etc).

-The Mini 2 Plus is suitable for use on para-motors, single-seat trikes or motor-gliders.

-The ignition is of the mono-Ducatti electronic type and the engine has a displacement of 202 cc.

-The carburetor is a Walbro and its power is 28 HP at 7,200 rpm.

-As we can see, it has a visible reducer and a crown for electric starting.

-The Mini 3 has a displacement of 270 cc and the maximum power is 33 HP at 7,000 rpm.

-The Mini 4 engine is smaller as it has a displacement of 164 cc for a power of 20 HP at 7,000 rpm. (22 HP at 7,200).

-The motor weighs 9 Kg and the propeller another 2.2 Kg. Do not forget that on a para-motor it is “hung” on the pilot's back, at the time of departure.

-We see the Mini 4 first without exhaust pipes and in the lower image with one.

-The gears that are offered have various ratios such as 1/226, 1/230 or 1/234.

-As we see, when installed on a para-motor, the exhaust is filigree to adapt to the caged propeller.

-The Victor I with a displacement of 382 cc gives a variable power depending on the rotation speed, for example, at 3,000 rpm it gives 15 HP, at 5,000 rpm it gives 35 HP and 44 HP at 6,500 rpm.

-It is a two-stroke, single-cylinder engine with double Ducatti electronic ignition.

-It is geared by a Poly-V pulley and the reduction ratio is 1:270.

-It is mixed liquid-air cooled, and it has an electric starter and Bing or Mikuni carburetor. The intake has Lamellar type blades.

-The exhaust system is the type that goes into “resonance” to gain revolutions and power.

-The Victor 2 and 2-Plus are twin-cylinders, like the Victor 1 Plus, but the reduction gear is mechanical. It has two carburetors. The differences may be that the 2 has a displacement of 724 cc and the Plus 764 cc.

-For this reason, the 2 simple gives 92 HP of maximum power while the Plus goes up to 102 HP. Both rotating at 6,200 rpm. (It is known that the first generation Victor II had a displacement of 688 cc).

-Finally, at the beginning of the 2000s, a Simonini 4-stroke engine was being prepared, a four-cylinder, water-cooled boxer giving 100 HP and up.

-The base is that of the Porsche 914 and completely made of aluminum.

-It was in the testing stage when the first edition of this publication appeared in 2003.

-We recovered information about Simonini, prepared for a new edition but now included.

-Around 1995, the Simonini company offered two models of engines for use in paragliding and ULM.

-The motorized para-glider has 26 HP and weighs 12 Kg.

-Curiously, it gave a thrust of 70 Kg with a direct propeller extension on a 90 cm diameter crankshaft and weighing 90 Kg with gear and a 140 cm diameter propeller.

-It had the possibility of hand or electric starting.

-The other engine is 72 HP, 90° V-twin. It weighs 34 Kg, and it has double ignition, two Bing carburetors with two resonance expansions.
