SARI stands for “Shengyang Aviation Engine Research Institute”. It started under this name in 1956. In 1979, it was known as SAC (see LEMC, also).
-It began with the development of the PF-1A and continued with the WS-5. It also developed the WP-6 and the WP-7 since it made the modification for the WP-7A. Later it continued with the LM WS-6, more powerful and with afterburner.
