LEMC are the initials of the “Liming Engine Manufacturing Corp.” also known as SEF (see), from "Shenyang Aero Engine Factory".
-In the 1950’s they were already overhauling MiG-15 and -17 engines.
-LEMC built the WP-5 engines that were the Klimov VK-1F.
-Later they made the WP-5A (VK-1A).
-Afterwards, this production was transferred to XAE (see).
-About 1956 the Shenyang Design Office made the first Chinese turbojet, the PF1A that was based on the WP-5. It was smaller and delivered 3,500 lbf of thrust.
“WP-6A”
-Thereafter they manufactured the WP-6, which was a Tumanskii RD9BF under license. It had an afterburner. With ups and downs between 1960-73, In 1964 it passed its certification. There were variants WP-6A and B. (see Tumanskii)
“WP-6A”
-WP-7A and B turbojets were made for Chinese J8 fighter jets.
-Also in 1964, they started to build the WS-6 turbofan, and it was finished in 1978. It delivered 23,000 lbf of thrust.
-The WS-6A reached 31,000 lbf of thrust and was intended for the H7 fighter jet.
