SANDERSON ENGINES DEVELOPMENT engine specifications

An extravagant system of changing linear movement into circular movement is the one developed in the “Nutator” engine of this brand.

Nutator prototype appearance
“Appearance of the prototype”

-To understand the principle, the prototype is animated by an electric motor. See previous photo.

-The four cylinders are clearly from a Continental aviation engine type C-90 or its derivatives such as the O-200, for aviation. Installed axially (as in barrel engines) and connected by a rigid connecting rod that acts as if it were a shuttle. In the center of both shuttles there are the connections of a “T” whose movement is easy to imagine.

-The electric starter is the same as the Continental.

-This additional photograph shows us the mechanism of this original engine more clearly.
