In 2013, the new SMA SR-460 engine with six horizontally opposed cylinders was presented at the Paris Air Show.

-This engine is based on the four-cylinder SR350 (SR305).

-The design of these Diesel engines was initially by Morane, which passed it to Renault Sport and finally to the Safran group.

-The new SR460 engine was already planned in the initial program of these engines in order to form a range of powers that would cover the needs of general aviation. They are Diesel engines to run on Jet-A1.

-The dimensions studied to locate the same spaces as Lycoming and Continental engines.
