Rhemag was located in Manheim. The name “Rhemag” is the contraction of Rhenania Motorenfabrik AG (AktienGesellshaft).

-At the beginning of working on this publication it was difficult to relate both names, in addition to the Anglo-Saxon version of Rhenania MotorWorks.

-Now we have obtained information that the rotary engines manufactured by Rhenania (Rhemag = Rh) were the Oberursel UR.II Rh and the Siemens & Halske Sh-III Rh.

-The last two letters Rh indicate the origin of the Rhemag factory.

-It turns out that a Fokker Sr.1 that had a Rhemag engine instead of the original, gave better performance and greater durability than the original Oberursel one.

-It is also commented in another publication that Argus As-III engines were built by Rhemag.

-Rhemag was formed in 1917 to build the Sh-III Rh, with an initial order of 1000 engines under license. These engines also had fewer problems than the original ones.

-The S.H. 3 from Rhemag was the Siemens Haslke with the same reference Sh.3. 160 hp.
