RENARD, ALFRED engine specifications

Alfred Renard, designer of the famous Belgian Stampe airplanes, founded the SA de Avions et Moteurs Renard.

-The 5-cylinder model, known as the Type 100, with 100/110 hp powered the Stampe Vertengen 32/90.

-There was a Type 400 consisting of two 200s joined together, forming an 18-cylinder double row radial.

-Below we see the five-cylinder surrounded by venerable airplanes in the Brussels Museum.

-The 200 CV Renard had 9 radial cylinders and was known as Type 200.

-There also was the 7-cylinder Type 7, which was a derivative of the 5-cylinder known as Type 120. It gave 140 CV at 1,900 rpm

-It is difficult to specify the power of the engines of this early period, since it was customary to record several powers at the same time as those of cruise and maximum, at takeoff or even at several rpm.

-Now we see that the 120 hp are at 1550 rpm and the maximum at takeoff is 135 hp at 1800 rpm and it is assumed that we are dealing with the considered 120 hp engine. Investigation continues.

-Wright Turtle Motors built the Renard Type-100 under license.

From Appendix 11: Below is a complete list of motors made by Alfred Renard:

-Type 100 with 5 cylinders and a power of 100 CV.

-Type 120 with 5 cylinders and a power of 120 CV.

-Type 7 with 7 cylinders and a power of 180 CV at 2,000 rpm.

-Type 200 with 9 cylinders and a power of 235 CV at 1,950 rpm.

-Type 400 with 18 cylinders and a power of 495 CV at 1,800 rpm.
