Aerocon Systems offers hybrid fuel rocket engines (and now a Tribrid model) whose main characteristic is that it contains the fuel within the same cylinder.

-They are offered with different sizes and thrusts. The 29mm diameter ones are the H-70 with 15 lbf average thrust over 2.57 seconds of burn time. The I-80 averaged 17 lbf (36 lbf peak) for 4.73 seconds.

-The I-90 with similar thrust and 6.43 seconds and the J-90 with equal thrust and time.

-The construction is simple, in an aluminum tube plugged in the front part and in the back part a phenolic material nozzle secured by a nut.

-A sleeve and the polypropylene load (in the below photo, white).

-The most characteristic thing is a floating piston acting as a “cylinder head” pressed with combustion, pushing the N2O from the front tank towards the chamber through a nylon tube that is gradually being consumed.

-The injector -and nylon tube- are attached to the floating piston that moves forward in its thrust.

The I-120 and J-160 have a diameter of 38 mm.

The K-240 with 51 lbf of thrust for 8 seconds has a diameter of 2.5 inch and is hybrid.

-The L-600 and M-900 deliver 140 lbf for 7 and 12 seconds respectively. Both are hybrids.

-The K-500 is Tribrid. It is 2.5 inches in diameter and gives 200 lbf for 2.5 seconds.

-It runs initially for half a second with three fuels: Nitrous/ABS/Alcohol, immediately switching to Nitrous/Alcohol, bipropellant.

-All the thrusts are related to the diameter and the times to the length of the motor, be it 48, 24, 36 inches, etc.
