“EA-81, 108-115 HP”
“EA-81, 140-160 HP”
-The two powers are a function of the accessories such as the electronic ignition, carburetors or fuel injection and the rpm.
-The mentioned systems are the EFI or “Electronic control for Fuel Injection” and the MPFI or “Multi-Point Fuel Injection”.
-When the Rotrex turbocharger is coupled to the EA-81, the power rises to 200 HP, not requiring intercooler since it is a light MP increase.
“EA-81, turbocharged”
From Appendix 6: This American company offers two engines and they look like Subaru based. Although many parts have been rebuilt and redesigned by Ram, for example forged and lighter pistons, new pro-flow valves, “tuned” intake manifold and many other improvements.
-For all these reasons, the EA series are 115-140 HP and the EJ are 200-300 HP. (see Subaru).
-The 115 HP, has 1.8 liters of displacement, multi-point fuel injection, and EC3 controller. It has mechanical reduction with bases for accessories.
“Ram Performance, 115 HP”
-The 140 HP version is the same 115 HP engine with turbocharger.
-We see the 140 HP in development in the illustration below. The left plate holds the turbocharger.
"Ram 140 HP with the turbo on the left"
From Appendix 10: Ohio Company that converts the Subaru EA-81 into its RAM-115A model, for example.
“Two Subaru engines adapted for aviation”
-The RAM 160AQ is a modified Subaru of 2.2 Lts. SOHC.
-The same as the RAM 115 SC,
-In a recent publication appears the installation of an engine assigned to RAM Performance but it is difficult to distinguish and assimilate its upper parts with the engines of this brand.
-We offer it below. It has a Marcotte gearbox, and it is indicated that it is a Subaru EA-81.
