Charles Eric Quick founded the Quick Motors Co, in Wichita, KS and in Houston, TX.
-They modified French rotary radial engines like the LeRhone 9JB to transfer them in fixed radials.

“Super Rhone patent”
-It is known as the Super Rhone, with 9 cylinders giving 120 HP.
-It was patented around 1927 in the US Patent Office under the number 1612985. The engine ran around 1929. It rotated at 1,400 rpm.
-Although the 9JB was rotary, this one was fixed, see the carburetor intake and the intake manifolds, impossible for them to rotate.
-The cylinder fins were different if the engine was fixed.
-A 180 HP version is mentioned.
-Also known as “Quick-LeRhone”.
-The conversions were effected by Quick Airmotor Co. of Wichita, Kansas.
-As already mentioned in the main text, they were WWI surplus from LeRhone, acquired in lots (new and still in their boxes) for only $ 25.
-The conversion was made to change them from rotaries to fixed radials and the new price became $ 25,000.
-The modification consisted mainly of the rear induction box that made the unit remain fixed.
They were made of aluminum.

-As we know, this modification or similar was also made by Tips & Smith (see) becoming known as Super-Rhone (see).
