They were adapted Plymouth car engines from Chrysler Motors. It started its march in 1928.
“Plymouth logos”
-With vertically upright in-line cylinders, it required a front radiator to cool the water.
“Dos Plymouth”
-It gave 80 HP, weighed 500 lb and was installed in the Plymouth Coupe SF1 and SF2 cars.
“Plymouth reduction gear”
-The engine modifications to adapt it to an airplane were made by the Fahlin Aircraft Company.. The magnetos were Vertex-Scintilla and the compression could be from 6.7 to 1 or from 7 to 1.
-Maximum power was obtained with the crankshaft rotating at 3,600 rpm while the propeller did so at 1,800 rpm.
