-It was installed by Steve Williams in 1974, on his model airplane. Auto-Aviation has commercialized the 3,500 cc engine.

From Appendix 6: In the main text there is an aviation-adapted Oldsmobile V8 car engine with an illustration included in which we can see that it is inverted.

-It belongs to the 330 cubic inch Oldsmobile Jetfire Rocket.

-The first test was done on a Cessna, which in the advertisement photo below appears together with the type of car whose engine it belongs to.

Oldsmobile, owned by General Motors, offered this engine alongside the JetStar 88s and the F-85. All of them with 290 HP and more.

-A modification for aeronautical use in 1974 is the Oldsmobile F-85 that appears in the main text, extended with new photos.

-The modification is done by Steve Wittman.

-The engine is a V8 but in inverted position, which differentiates it from many other applications.

-It has 215 cu. in. of total displacement. Its power was 145 HP at 4,000 rpm.

-The lubrication system is a "dry sump" and has a collector-tank in the lower rear part, as you can see.

From Appendix 9: Below a General Motors Group engine that is adapted for aviation. It is the model 85.

-This V8 engine is normally mounted as an upright vertical V, but in this case it is inverted.

-Therefore, it has a dry sump oil system with collection pumps to send it to a separate tank. Another pump takes care of the pressure delivery.

The engine does not seem to have a reducer, as we can see in the two photographs shown above in Appendix 6.

-It has been used to obtain the speed record in this category, and even reach Mach 1.0, over 600 mph.

-It appears that there was a record of 612/617 mph. The engine increased its power to 2,000 HP (!) According to the same information.
