Norton, a well-known English motorcycle manufacturer, entered the field of aviation engines in 1969.

-This was in collaboration with Teledyne Continental Motors. (see).

-In 1978, deals were made with Fichtel & Sachs for the KM-914 engine and to increase the powers to 50/60 HP.

-Mid-West was also licensed.

-The first engine was the P-41, a 294 cc two-rotor Wankel rotary engine for RPV and ULM.

-They continued with the P-60 that gave 90 hp with two rotors. It was possible to increase the power to 180 HP by coupling two more rotors.

-There was the P-73 with a displacement of 207 cc giving 35 HP at 7,500 rpm.

“NR-622”

-The NR-622 had two double rotors but without gear and the NR-642 is the Heavy Duty version of the basic Norton two-rotor motor. It gave 90 HP.

-The Norton NR-801 has a single rotor without gear giving 52 HP.

-The central body, where the triangular Wankel piston is located, is well defined in the side view.

-The NR-731 engine has an air cooling system through the forward speed.

It gives 38 hp with only 208 cc of displacement.
