Nissan companies in Japan are involved in space projects with rocket engines in their programs.
“M-3S-II rocket”
-The rocket engines on the M-3S-II launch vehicle, the M-IISRS, or the M-V, etc.
-The H-1 rocket's H-1-3 engine is solid fuel, with a thrust of almost 8,000 Kgf and a burn time of 68 seconds.
-The H-2-0 engine also runs on solid fuel and is used in the H-2 vehicle and in the J-1.
-It has a thrust of just over 70,000 Kgf with a burning time of 94 seconds.
-In general, Nissan engines are solid fuel, at least in the M-13, M-23, MV-4, M-14, M-24 or M-34.
-The S-520 is a single stage probe rocket with a Nissan engine.
“S-520”
-Nissan also builds apogee and launch engines for Japanese geostationary satellites.
“Nissan apogee engine”
-But Nissan's most spectacular engine -from an aeronautical point of view- has been the automotive VG-30.
-It was modified by Burt Rutan to reach 800 and 1,000 HP with methanol fuel.
-He added turbochargers, intercoolers, gear and 4-blade advanced technology propellers.
“Nissan VG-30”
-It was installed on the Pond-Racer racing plane reaching 965 km/hr. (600 miles/hour)
“Pond-Racer with Nissan engine”
-Lately we have seen the assembly of adapted Nissan Micra car engines on light aircraft with the various powers that are available of this brand.
“Nissan Micra assembly”
From Appendix 6: As stated in the main text, the car engines of this brand have also been used in aviation and the engine of the MA12b shown below is another example.
“Adapted Nissan engine”
-And that of the well-known Nissan Micra, with 80 hp and adapted by Scroll Engines.
"Nissan Micra Engine for VLA"
-By the main text we know Burt Rutan's Pond Racer that obtained a speed record of 965 Km/hr (600 mi/hr) for aircraft with piston engines.
-It is a bi-fuselage plane with a central rear cockpit.
"Appearance of a Nissan engine nacelle"
-The engine was the VG-30, which we see installed with the side cover open.
“Uncovered Pond Racer engine”
-The engine was a V6, that is, 6 cylinders in two blocks of 3 each placed in V.
-The VG-30 automobile engine was chosen by Electramotive for the Pond Racer, as expressed in both chapters of the main text.
-In a Cutaway that appeared in Flight magazine and due to the American cartoonist-artist David Hatchard we have been able to see the arrangement of this engine inside one of the two nacelles -the right one-.
“Part of the Pond Racer Cutaway” (PiP)
From Appendix 9: Nissan is a major rocket engine builder for their space program.

-We discovered a new engine that Nissan made during WWII
“Nissan 4-cylinder engine”
-The construction began in October 1943 with reference Ha-47.
-The engine of the Nissan Micra car has been modified to carry a gearbox and propeller for ULM.
“Nissan Micra car engine”
“Dr. Scroll's adaptation”
From Appendix 12: Automobile engine adapted for aviation use. It is the M-12.
“Geared by toothed belt” (PiP)
-Nissan Micra's engine converted for use in ULM and LSA.
“Top rear view”
“Mounted engine front view”
-It has three in-line cylinders and it is the same automotive engine with three carburetors and electronic ignition. The distribution is by toothed belt.
-It is also geared by toothed belt.
