Ramón Girona founded a workshop in Barcelona in 1948, on Travessera de las Corts, number 7 to 17, to build cars, airplanes and aviation engines.

“Nacional RG ad”

-He was an engineer and aviator pilot, graduated in Paris, and worked at Farman. It is mentioned that he built two types of light aircraft and together with a small 6 CV car he presented them at the XVI International and Official Trade Fair of Barcelona.

-An advertisement from Nacional RG is inserted here on the occasion of said exhibition. No trace has been located of what type of aircraft engines it manufactured. At least to date.

From Appendix 7: We got hold of the patent for an engine designed by Ramon Girona of Barcelona.

-It is patent number 183621 from 1948. It is intended for the propulsion of light automobiles.

-It has two air-cooled, horizontally-opposed cylinders, giving 6 tax HP.

-It has an excellent design with hemispherical chambers.

-In this patent appears the two-cylinder engine. In advertisements of the time, the aforementioned car and the plane are already shown.

-They already have 40 and 100 real CV engines (not tax) and four-cylinder engines, which were derived from the previous one.

-Today you can still see the RG car in the Salvador Claret collection, at Hostal del Rolls, on the Nacional II, in Girona.
