The Murray engines in this chapter that were built by the Murray-Willat Company, were the same Murray Ajax and Atlas that were manufactured by Aircraft Holding Corp. (see).
“Murray-Willat”
-The first Murray-Willat engine was of 1910. It was a rotary without valves.
-A supercharger that was more like a fan fed the cylinders with light pressure to help the sweep, the rotation of the engine did the rest.
-There were two Murray-Willat engine models, the first one gave 35 HP at 1,200 rpm. The diameter of this engine was only 26 inches.
The second one was bigger and gave 90 hp at the same rpm. It had an overall engine diameter of 29 inches.
