Its Wankel-type rotary engines such as the RX-3 or RX-7 are used in light aviation, adapted by various companies.
-The 200 HP RX-8 Wankel type engine was mounted on the FD-500D in the USA.
-The MZ-202 giving 65 CV and the MZ-34 or the MZ-35 giving 25 CV have been adapted for aviation.

-The RX-3, giving 330 HP at 8,000 rpm, flew in planes like the Aero Design DG-1.
-Other planes also carry Mazda engines: Jongbloed, Grünig (In the illustration), Duncan, Hersteck, etc.
-The rotary engines that were built by the Mazda automobile factory are very interesting for their use on experimental and homebuilt aircraft.
-They give more power with less volume and weight, and they run very smoothly.
-Various companies and individuals are adapting these engines for different planes. (see Wankel also).
