-Arad, was a city in Romania before the First World War. Today it is in Hungary.

-There the Benz engine was manufactured under license. It gave 150 cv at 1,400 rpm. It was a water-cooled, six-cylinder, in-line engine.

-The airplane in the photograph that is powered by it is a Brandenburg CI-169.

From Appendix 9: At the Szolnok Museum in Hungary, a MARTA engine has been seen (see main text for synthesis of its history).

-It is the Marta-Benz Bz.IV model, giving 150 CV.

-The engine is built under license from German Benz. In this case, in the below photograph, we see the deflector that forces the dynamic air from the forward speed, (or from the propeller, on the ground) to enter the cooling-air holes of the oil sump to control the temperature.

-In the main text there is no photograph of the Benz BzIV engine, but a distant one of the airplane that has it fitted, and a group of personnel.

-In the Budapest Museum there is a perfectly restored one.
