There is also a Marchetti brand known in Italy for the manufacture of aircraft.
-But here is "Marchetti Motor Patents, Inc" that was based in the Russ Building in San Francisco, California and that offered a radial engine with no crankshaft, but with a double cam, as we see in the below photo.
"8-cylinder Marchetti"
From Appendix A6/6: We have a nice drawing showing the cam and linkage mechanism of this Marchetti Cam type engine.
-The drawing is by Mr. Bill Todd and there is an animated version.
“Cam Engine Mechanism Diagram”
-The prototype was built in 1927, it gave 175 HP.
From Appendix 12: Here are two designs from cam-action engine patents, a W-engine and an in-line.
“W-engine”
“In-line engine”
-As for the known radial engines of 10 and 6 cylinders there are new illustrations.
“Marchetti 10-cylinder, double row, radial“
“Marchetti 6-cylinder schematics”
-To the left the Nordwick (see Nordwick Engine Company) and the Marchetti to the right.
-We found a patent for this American brand that uses a cam system instead of a crankshaft.
