This is the "Winterthur Swiss Machinery and Locomotive Workshops".
-At the time LFW manufactured the following engines:
-Model “0” giving 150 CV.
-Model “I” giving 180 CV.
-Model “II” giving 200 CV.
-Model “III” giving 220 CV.
From Appendix 6: Our visit to the Zurich Museum gave as a prize the location of the LFW III, of which we will offer three illustrations.
-It is the V8 mentioned in the chapter of the main text.
-Attention, it is also about “Winterthur” (see), name by which they were known as well.
“Engine plate details”
-Depending on the language in which the name was written, it was translated with different letters.
-As we know in Switzerland, French, German and Italian coexist.
-So we see that LFW refers to "Locomotive Fabrique de Winterthur", in German "Schweizerische Lokomotiv & Maschinenfabrik de Winterthur" perhaps only as the "Winterthur".
“The LFW V8 in Zurich”
-Below another side view of the LFW III. Although LFW made Hispano Suiza engines under license, the influence on the architecture of the LFW-III is negligible since the cylinders are individual, the camshaft is inside the crankcase, etc.

-The LFW IV is also known.
