Industrial engines adapted for ultralight, paramotors, etc. A range of them is shown.
“Lista Kohler”
From Appendix 6: Builder of pilotless-aircraft engines for UAV / RPV, from Canada. The company is located in Mississauga, Ontario.
-For the moment we have knowledge of three inline two-cylinder engines.
-The SK-340-2AS, giving 34 hp at 7,500 rpm.
-The K340-2RS, giving 60 hp at 8,500 rpm (small version of the K440-2RS).
-The K440-2RS, giving 76 hp at 8,500 rpm.
-The three are two-stroke engines that can operate in vertical and horizontal positions. Recently we received the information that Kohler Canada is a subsidiary of Kohler USA, located in Wisconsin.
“Kohler KT-17, 17 CV”
From Appendix 10: USA / Canada. Below we show a 25 hp Kohler V-engine, with two cylinders and belt reduction.
“Adapted for ULM”
-The well-known industrial engines are still used in light aviation as is the case of the “Command” P20 model.
-From an Italian publication about ultralights we took this picture.
“Kohler Command P20-30”
-It is Kohler UL Eng., From photography we can see that it is a Briggs & Stratton industrial motor with a chain-drive gearbox on a welded and screwed structure.
“The Kohler engine with four-bladed propeller”
-It has two cylinders in V, with the carburetor on top and on the rear. The exhausts are calling our attention. They are those circular boxes in the front, perforated acting as flame arresters.
From Appendix 12: An industrial engine that has been adapted multiple times for experimental light aviation, etc.
“Adapted Kohler 2V engine” (PiP)
-The Kohler engine in the photo already has a belt reducer and with the exhaust pipes directing down and free.
-This particular engine gives 25 hp. It is the same as in the first black and white photo.
