Belonging to the Safran Group, it is dedicated to the construction of solid propulsion material for civil and military rockets.

-Conjointly with MBDA and Roxel (see) they manufacture rocket engines, optimizing costs in France. MBDA manufactures missiles.

-MBDA and Herakles have received the works on ramjet rockets from Roxel. (See).

-In 2012, Herakles joins SEM and Snecma Solid Propulsion. They build a lot of material, the tactical-missile engines M45 and M51. The P-80 Vega nozzle (together with Europropulsión and Regulus.

-The nozzles for the Ariane-5 SRM boosters. The extensions for high altitude of the American RL-10 and the European Vinci.

-They also build the Zefiro-23 and Zefiro-9 engines for the Vega's 2nd and 3rd stages. For the ignition of solid rockets, they use pyrotechnic devices from Pyroalliance (subsidiary of Safran as well)
