Harry Ricardo is also honored with the title "Sir", like Frank Halford and Roy Fedden.

Harry Ricardo
“Harry Ricardo”

-This title was awarded for his high contribution to the motoring of English aviation.

-Although he was not directly involved in the manufacturer brands, for almost all of them he was a consultant.

-He was very related to Halford in his projects, as well as with Roy Fedden, whom he convinced of the importance and superiority of Burt McCollum's sliding-sleeve valve system. See Bristol.

-The single-cylinder engine illustrated below was used by Harry Ricardo for the development of Rolls-Royce's "Crecy" engine operating principle.

“E-65”

-It was a two-stroke engine with sliding sleeves and ports on the upper and lower part of the cylinder.

-The combustion chamber is rather a prechamber.

-Very well-known has been a car-engine variant of "Perkins" with "Ricardo Prechamber" during the years 1950-1960. It was more hidden and inclined to create eddies that mixed air and diesel and left less waste as there was a more complete combustion.
